Julian served as the Member of Parliament for Cambridge from 2010-2015, and previously on Cambridgeshire County Council for eight years, including a period as Leader of the Opposition. He trained as a scientist, working on DNA structure and function, and currently runs a centre at Jesus College, Cambridge, looking at the big issues of our time. He used to be an ambulance technician with St John’s Ambulance and founded a small award-winning biotech company.
