Laura has worked in senior leadership roles across the public and private sectors in the UK and overseas in Europe and Asia. Her background is in financial services regulation where she has worked as a policy maker, regulator, and as an advisor for a variety of global financial services firms.
Laura began her professional career at the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA), before moving to the private sector working as an internal auditor for an investment bank, and later as a management consultant, making recommendations and making enhancements to risk management, controls, governance and oversight processes. As a policy maker at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Laura played a key role in negotiating agreements between representatives from the different EU nations on the application of complex regulatory requirements across Europe. Laura has recently relocated to Cambridgeshire from Japan, where she was most recently working as a management consultant for PwC, advising international financial services firms on international regulatory requirements and regulatory change topics.
Laura has a professional track record in improving experiences for the public from her years working in the field of investor protection, improving outcomes for customers using banking or investment services.
