The ICB will be led by our Chair-Designate, John O’Brien, and our Chief Executive-Designate, Jan Thomas. Its role will be to join up health and care services, improve people’s health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. The ICB will oversee how money is spent and make sure that health services work well and are of high quality.
Based on a national model constitution, the board’s draft constitution is currently being developed with the support of the Constitution Task and Finish Group as part of the transition to become a statutory organisation.
We asked for feedback on the early draft, and we expect NHS England and Improvement to make further amendments to the constitution as the bill progresses through Parliament and updated versions are expected around the end of November and again late January.

We submitted the latest version of the draft constitution to NHS England for review and comment on 14 April 2022.
