Seeking medical treatment abroad

NHS England is responsible for administering the application process for patients seeking funding for healthcare/treatment in other countries.

Treatment abroad

When applying for funding, there are two funding routes that patients may be able to access;  they are known as the 'S2' route and the 'EU Directive' route.  NHS England is responsible for administering the application process for both.

The NHS.UK website provides further information regarding seeking treatment abroad.

Patients should note that Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG policies relating to restrictions on which service or treatments will be funded by the NHS will also apply when accessing treatment abroad.
