Virtual Consultations (VC) within MSK Physiotherapy

The East of England Outpatient Transformation team are hosting a workshop on the use of virtual consultations (VC) within MSK physiotherapy.

VC has offered a range of benefits to patients and clinicians in the East of England over the past 18 months. The Long Term Plan and 2021-2022 operating guidance makes a clear commitment that this capability should be maintained beyond the pandemic. However, there remains a question around where the use of VC is “clinically appropriate” and how VC can be embedded into clinical pathways.

Therefore, the aims of this workshop are:

  • To understand current usage of VC in the region including any barriers / enablers to use
  • To identify where clinicians feel VC can be appropriately applied to MSK physiotherapy pathways
  • To identify practical steps which could help physiotherapy services to increase appropriate VC usage

Attendees will hear from clinicians from local physiotherapy services about their successful usage of VC, as well as from the National Outpatient Transformation Team who are developing guidance on integrating VC into physiotherapy pathways. There will also be chance for open discussion around your views on the above topics which will help to guide future work in this space.

If you would like to attend the workshop on 03 November 17:00-18:30, please email: england.systemimprovementeoe@nhs.net
