Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) employ a number of specialist nurses within the Nursing and Quality Directorate, led by the Chief Nurse.  The key responsibility is to promote provision of services that are safe, responsive and provide effective patient care, focussed on keeping the patient at the centre.

The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (July 2015) and Code of Practice provide the guiding principles to ensure that service users, those employed to carry out regulated activity and others who may be at risk of exposure to healthcare associated infection are protected against the identifiable risks.

By monitoring the adherence to national and local policy, infection prevention control compliance can be followed and embedded into every day best practice.

Whilst the CCG specialist infection control nurse is not committed to providing a service to Independent Contractors, support remains as being available and help to identify other resources. A wide range of resources are available through this web page and you are invited to browse through.

In addition, The Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust’s Infection Prevention and Control site provides a valuable multi-professional resource centre to support with national guidelines, policies and briefing documents.
