Contract procurement for services at three practices in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

The APMS contracts at 3 practices in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (Botolph Bridge Community Health Centre, Willow Tree Surgery, and St Neots Health Centre) are due to expire on 30 November 2021.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) holds the contract for GP-led services at 85 local member practices. GP services are commissioned through either a General Medical Services (GMS), Personal Medical Services (PMS) or Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contract.

Before the end of the current contracts, the CCG is required to undertake an open procurement process and invite bids from any suitably qualified and interested parties to provide NHS primary care services at these practices. The procurement process has now concluded, and we are able to confirm the new contract holders for each practice:

GP Practice name  New contract holder
(from 1 December 2021)
Botolph Bridge Community Health Centre, Peterborough Malling Health (UK) Limited
The Willow Tree Surgery, Peterborough Malling Health (UK) Limited
St Neots Health Centre One Medicare

The new contracts will start on 1 December 2021 and will run for 7 years, with the potential to extend for up to a further 3 years. The new contract holders will now start making arrangements to ensure a smooth handover of services from the current provider.

All three contracts have been commissioned on an ‘as is’ basis, i.e. with no changes to patient services.

Patients at these practices will continue to be able to access NHS services from their GP practice, in the same way as they do now.
