Patient Helpdesk - Hospital Waiting Times

The new Hospital Waiting Times Patient Helpdesk is now available to help patients in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough with queries regarding hospital and community appointments, investigations, or procedures they are waiting for.

Please note: The patient helpdesk will not be available after 1 April 2022.

Open Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, patients can contact the freephone Helpdesk on 0800 048 5800 if they have been referred and have queries regarding:

  •  An outpatient appointment
  • An appointment for hospital tests (eg scans)
  • A date for an operation or other treatment
  • A follow-up from your hospital team

Helpdesk staff will be able to help manage patient concerns and questions and facilitate actions where possible or required.

To help raise awareness of the service and alleviate workload for practices, all practices are asked to include information on the Helpdesk on their practice website and answerphone messages.  Suggested website copy and answerphone message are available HERE.

The Patient Helpdesk is intended to complement and liaise where necessary with existing Trust advice services. It does not replace them. Funding for the Patient Helpdesk is secured until the end of the current financial year, 31 March 2022. We will evaluate how useful it is in terms of diverting patient calls from GP practices, and providing patients with a satisfactory outcome before the end of March, by seeking your feedback.
