Fraud alert - officeteam
A fake company has been targeting GP practices for invoice payments. Initial contact is made by telephone with the caller becoming irate when challenged and threatening legal action.
Please read the attached Fraud Alert which contains actions to be followed if you are contacted by this fake company.
Physio Advice Line - DynamicHealth
Cambridgeshire Community Services physio advice line provided by DynamicHealth has increased its opening hours to 8.15am to 5pm Monday to Friday. See attached poster.
As a reminder this service offers direct and easy access to an experienced physiotherapist regarding problems relating to bones, joints and soft tissue.
Anyone over the age of 18 years who is registered with a GP in Huntingdonshire, Cambridge city or south Cambridgeshire can access this service without a referral.
This is also advanced notice of the long awaited roll out for East Cambs and Fenland, which will go live on 17 September 2018. Details on the Peterborough roll out will follow.

Flu vaccination information
NHS England/Public Health England have recently produced and disseminated information on the 2018/2019 Flu vaccination programme which can be found here.
Public Health England have also just released a special edition Vaccine update (issue 284) which covers which flu vaccine to give, NICE guidelines: increasing influenza update, the Green book chapter 19, along with links to the new resources and information and training for healthcare professionals. Video on primary care services
A video aimed at raising patient awareness of how their GP services are changing for the better with a strong focus on wider workforce has been produced by the mid and south Essex STP. The film features interviews with GPs, including one who has joined the NHS through the area’s international recruitment programme, and wider primary care staff such as an emergency care practitioner and clinical pharmacists. 100 per cent of trusts switched over to E-referral service
All acute trusts across England have successfully switched to electronic referrals for first outpatient appointments - almost a month ahead of schedule. To read the full joint press release from NHS Digital and NHS England click here.
Eastern Academic Health Science Network Podcast
The Eastern Academic Health Science Network has released its latest #PrimaryCareTalks podcast. This episode is a medtech special featuring new technology being used to detect Atrial Fibrillation (AF), a condition that could lead to a stroke. It is estimated that over 400,000 people in the UK remain undiagnosed for AF. In the podcast, Dr Hasan Chowhan meets Caroline Prentice, a practice manager at Goldington Avenue Surgery in Bedford, and her colleague Emma Bowler a practice nurse, to give an insight into how they have introduced this new technology at seven practices in the area.

Congratulations to Swavesey surgery, who have topped the poll in the GP Patient Survey and been ranked as the highest scoring GP practice in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The top 10 practices in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, listed in the GP Patient Survey by NHS England, are: Swavesey Surgery, Great Staughton Surgery, Moat House Surgery , Kimbolton Medical Centre, Buckden Surgery, Burwell Surgery, Rainbow Surgery, Bourn Surgery, Old Exchange Surgery, and Parkhall Surgery.
Peterborough Diagnostic & Assessment Service

Back to school 2018 communications toolkit now available
As part of the CCG’s ongoing self-care campaign GP practices can now access the new ‘Back to school and students’ 2018 communication toolkit on the Healthcare professionals’ areas of the CCG website HERE
The toolkit provides posters and leaflets, articles/copy for websites and newsletters, suggested social media activity and images and infographics around the following:
- Back to school - minor childhood illnesses
- Starting or returning to university/college
- Stocking up your medicine cabinet
If you would like any further information or guidance on how to use any of these resources within your practice please contact the CCG communications team at capccg.contact@nhs.net. We would also welcome any feedback on the toolkit (is it useful? What else could it include?) so we can ensure the content is relevant and of use.
Cancer Masterclasses
The session has been planned for GPs to contribute in an interactive discussion, and share learning from the case studies which were submitted for this discussion by local Practices.
We will also learn about Cancer Decision Support tools, intended for use in clinical practice to spot and diagnose cancer early.

Final call for expressions of interest for the 1 day Cambridgeshire Perinatal Mental Health Awareness Training
Although targeted at ‘emergency services’, this one day programme is an awareness programme and is suitable for all frontline health and social care practitioners who may see women during the perinatal period presenting with emerging mental health difficulties.
The programme is funded by the NHS East of England Perinatal Clinical Network, who are providing lunch and refreshments. The venue is kindly being funded by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG.

- 09.15 for coffee and registration for an 09.30 start and 16.30 finish
