The Diabetes Education Programme
CDEP is a competency-based online diabetes learning tool that supports all levels of healthcare practitioners demonstrate their diabetes knowledge and skills relevant to their role. A variety of diabetes specific topics are available which currently amounts to 30 hours of diabetes study time. New content is developed on an ongoing basis and is launched once it have been rigorously tested. Read more on their website.

GP practice process for reporting disruption of services
Following recent queries from GP Practices, we thought it would be helpful to clarify the process GP practices should take, should there be any unexpected disruption to services which will effect patients accessing the practice either in person or via the telephone.
In the event of an emergency situation, Practices should refer to their business continuity plans and are required to notify the commissioner by e-mailing the NHS England local team at england.gpeast@nhs.net in the first instance and cc in the CCG primary care team capccg.primarycare@nhs.net so relevant stakeholders can be notified accordingly.
Safeguarding children survey
As you may know, the Local Safeguarding Children Board has undertaken some focused work around child neglect. This has included the development of Neglect strategies, resources for professionals and bespoke neglect training.
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Children Board are currently undertaking some follow up work around neglect to assess the impact that it has had on practice.
We would be grateful if you could circulate and complete this survey. It should take a maximum of 2-3 minutes to complete.
Vacancy: Named Nurse Safeguarding Primary Care
A great opportunity has arisen for Nurses with Safeguarding experience to come and join the CCG Safeguarding Team and support Primary Care to continue to strengthen their engagement for vulnerable adults and children. There are two posts (one adult and one child – look at JD and PS links for both Job Descriptions).
Applications and more information can be found on NHS Jobs.
Significant Event Analysis (SEA)
As part of shared learning, we are studying the experiences of GPs where cancer was diagnosed following an emergency presentation. We request the support of your Practice through completing a Significant Event Analysis (SEA), and request to complete and share the attached dataset for submitting a hypothetical scenario of a cancer diagnosis following presentation as an emergency to secondary care.
Please see the attached letter and questionnaire for more information.
We would very much appreciate your support and participation in completion of this audit as the more engagement from practices we receive, the more value is added to the learning event which will be held later in the year.
