Fond farewell to Diane Siddle

The Primary Care Team recently said a fond fairwell to Diane Siddle Senior Primary Care Contracts Manager at NHSE Local Team who retired recently after supporting Primary Care in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough for many years.

Members of the Primary Care Team were invited along to the NHSE Team office in Fulbourn where her colleagues had laid on a surprise buffet lunch and the CCG Primary Care Team presented Diane with a beautiful bouquet, chocolates and bubbly to help mark the occasion.

Are you ready for the NHS app?

All GP practices in England will be connected to the NHS App by 1 July 2019. Patients can already download the NHS App from app stores and use it to check their symptoms and get instant advice. Once their GP practice is connected, they can book and manage appointments, order repeat prescriptions, securely view their GP medical record, and more.

Guidance has been developed for practices and CCGs that explains how the NHS App will improve the patient experience of using digital services and bring benefits to practice staff. Please visit the website and ensure your practice is ready for the NHS App.

The following interactive webinars are available for CCGs and practice staff about the NHS App:

  • Introduction to the NHS App, including NHS login
  • Getting your GP surgery ready for connection to the NHS App
  • Promoting the NHS App and its benefits to your patients
  • The NHS App: Records access and safeguarding.

Green Prescription (nature-based intervention) Research - HRA approved

Jake Robinson, PhD Researcher at The University of Sheffield, is inviting GP practices to participate in a short Health Research Authority approved questionnaire as part of a PhD (at the University of Sheffield). It takes approximately 5-10mins to complete. The results will form part of an important research project to determine the current knowledge and feasibility of Green Prescribing - an intervention aimed at helping to reduce noncommunicable diseases and mental health issues, similar to social prescribing but focusing on the natural environment.

The questionnaire can be found at the following secure link: https://goo.gl/forms/qeuflb9BBd6bAULh1

For more information about the research project please see the Participant Information Sheet attached to this email. Also attached is the HRA Approval letter and ‘local information pack’ with various supporting documents.

If your practice has any questions about the project, please contact jmrobinson3@sheffield.ac.uk
