Offering first, second and booster vaccinations to eligible patients, the NHS teams delivering over 1,500 vaccinations – with over 200 coming forward to have their first or second dose.
This latest clinic at the Guildhall in Cambridge was another opportunity for local patients to access their vaccine, getting life-saving protection from COVID-19. The pop-up clinic was held in addition to existing walk-in opportunities at the Grafton Centre, as well as bookable appointments being offered at a range of community pharmacy and NHS large scale vaccination sites across the area.
Dr Gary Howsam, Chair of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group, said:
“We were delighted to see a fantastic response from our local community at our pop-up clinic at the Guildhall, despite the bad weather on Saturday. I’m grateful to the whole team for making this event possible, allowing us to offer the life-saving jab to over 1,500 patients over the space of just two days.
“Remember it’s never too late to get your vaccine. If you are still due your first or second dose, please come forward now and visit one of our local walk-in centres or book your appointments online. If you’re eligible for a booster, I would encourage you to add ‘book your COVID-19 booster’ to the top of your to do list this week to give you longer-lasting protection.”
Patients who are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination can find a walk-in site near them via www.thevaccinators.co.uk, or book appointments by visiting www.nhs.uk/covidvaccine or by calling 119.
