Gold Award win for CCG's Communications and Engagement Team

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG’s Communications and Engagement Team are over the moon after winning ‘Best Healthcare Campaign’ at the CIPR Anglia, Thames and Chiltern PRide Awards, which were held virtually yesterday (5 October 2021), for their BIG conversation campaign.

The BIG conversation was developed to talk to the wider public, as well as our stakeholders, about how we use our valuable NHS resources, how we can each take more responsibility for our own health and put patients at the heart of our decision-making processes. It ran between 27 September 2019 and 20 December 2019 and almost 6,000 local people submitted their views. The CIPR PRide awards were not held in 2020, allowing for entries to include work from the previous two years.

Laura Halstead, Head of Communications and Marketing at the CCG, said, “This is such fantastic recognition of all the team’s great work in reaching as many local people as possible using a wide range of excellent communications and engagement skills. It was monumental team effort that went into making the BIG conversation a success. I am so incredibly proud of everything we did on that project, but also since then - delivering clear, effective comms and engagement through a pandemic.”

The judging panel, made up of PR Industry experts, said of the CCG team’s work: “Strong, integrated tactical execution with consideration given to internal stakeholders and different cultural groups. Clear and timebound objectives and sound evidence of consultation processes through the research period. Good to see evidence of continual adaptation throughout the campaign to maximise reach to target audiences.”
