Dr Tiffin, who recently won the Healthcare Leader of the Year award at the General Practice Awards, said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed to this National Adviser role and I will be working hard to ensure that the new pathway makes the patient journey through mental health services as smooth as possible. As a local GP I see many patients who have mental health needs and I am committed to making sure that they, and their carers, receive effective support from mental health services”.

The National Advisers are provided jointly by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health. Commissioned by NHS England, the National Advisers will support the development of resources for the Community Mental Health Care Pathway.
