Type 2 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes. In the UK, around 90% of all adults with diabetes have type 2.
It is when the body doesn't produce enough insulin, or the body's cells don't react to insulin.
DESMOND courses are held across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

DESMOND courses are held in small groups local venues across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The sessions are led by educators who are health professionals trained to help you become the expert about your diabetes and health. They can help you with practical skills to manage your diabetes and to explore factors such as food choices, activity and medication.
You will also be able to meet and talk to others in the same situation.
The courses are open to anyone who has had a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes in the last 10 years and has not previously attended a Desmond course.
