Changes to practice membership at Octagon Medical Practice

Octagon Medical Practice has agreed to review its membership and to create smaller, more local, practice groups. The planned changes to membership will take place over the next few months.

We would like to reassure all patients that none of the current Octagon surgery sites will close as part of this process and patients will continue to have access to the same NHS services as they do currently.

Since October 2020, some practices have already withdrawn from the shared management arrangements at Octagon Medical Practice (Clarkson Surgery, Cornerstone Practice, Great Staughton Surgery, Hampton Health, Mercheford House Surgery, Papworth Surgery, Priory Fields Practice, and Trinity Surgery).

In November 2021, Hodgson Medical Centre and Nene Valley Medical Practice also left the shared management arrangements at Octagon. They will now work together as ‘Nene Valley Hodgson Medical Practice’ and will continue to provide NHS care for their patients.

The planned timelines are below:

Thomas Walker Surgery & Westgate Surgery
(to be known as Thomas Walker Westgate Healthcare)
December 2021
Bretton Medical Practice January 2022
Park Medical Centre January 2022
Thorney and Eye Medical Practice & Jenner Healthcare January 2022

We would like to reassure patients that these are administrative changes and are not about changes to patient services.

We have also published a set of Frequently Asked Questions for patients. If you cannot find the answer to the question you are looking for, please contact your practice or the CCG’s Patient Experience Team on capccg.pet@nhs.net
